Gianna Lanteri is a 17 year old rider who currently shows in the junior jumpers and regional grand prix classes. She began riding at the age of 12 and quickly realized that her heart is in the jumper ring. Born and raised in Colorado, Gianna set her goals high from day one and traveled the country for most of her junior career as a working student.
Gianna is very involved in the care and management of her horses, acting as her own groom since the very start. She always puts her horse’s well-being first, saying “I love the horses first and the sport second.”
In addition to catch riding, Gianna has two horses of her own. Valentino X is a 2011 grey Holsteiner gelding. He competes in junior jumper classes with Gianna and shows promising talent for the grand prix ring in the future. Cayenne (Roo) is a 2010 bay Holsteiner mare that shows in the junior jumpers and grand prix classes. She has been with Gianna since she was 5 and together they have moved up the ranks from .75m to grand prix. A truly special horse to have in her string. Both horses wear the Fenwick Calming Mask and have had top results with it!
Looking into the future, Gianna wants to turn professional at 18 and show in the U25 classes. She hopes to represent her country internationally and continue to find opportunities to learn from the sport’s “bests”.
